CHADD, BloomingtonFor CHADD (Children & Adults with ADD), I coordinated a monthly, no-cost support group for 16 years -- many of those meetings held in the council chambers.

Bloomington Dog ParkCalled the off-leash park, I have led annual clean-up events, gathered usage data, and worked with closely with Bloomington Park & Recreation.
CHADD, NationalI served on the national board of Children & Adults with ADD) and was elected board president from 2010-2012. During that time, we went from a finance and leadership crisis to healthy staff and budget. I continue to serve as immediate past-president.

Exchange Student HostIn addition to being the safe and fun home for our children's friends, we've also taken in a number of students from Switzerland, France, and Bethlehem. For the past seven years, we have proudly hosted (our second son), Walid Issa.

Domestic AbuseI created a company to deliver domestic-abuse programming to court-ordered individuals. There, I donated $27,000 worth of services to indigent individuals. I have also worked with inmates within the Lino Lakes Prison system.

ARCI was a volunteer with ARC, a Presbyterian-based program which brings together youth from across the world to engage in conversations of leadership and peace.
